This is a feature that fitbox have they definitely push as a point of difference, and it's definitely a point that is made and emphasised on during the CF L2 course.
We are looking to add this functionality with the rebuild of our athlete apps!
2 months to go, is it going to happen - particularly as part of a full native iOS app?
There are already market leaders in this case. Polar Club, Self Loops and MyZone are the big names, with MyZone and Polar Club being the stand outs.
We are going to solve some / all of the pain points here in one of three ways in 2017.
1. Native integration to Infusionsoft or something similar.
2. Zapier integration
3. Building the functionality natively. Stay tuned in 2017 for updates!
Zapier would be perfect for integration into Active Campaign. While infusionsoft is perhaps the mind share leader, it's a marketplace that is ripe for disruption. Zapier will also help us with integration with other platforms like Xero for proper book keeping reconcilliation.
Anything that can facilitate integration with a platform of choice puts you in a better position. I'd prefer to see that, then see Wodify attempt to build their own, whereas cycles could be spent on a new mobile app, personal training and other core business flows.
I'd like to see Wodify offer the ability to integrate against a better cloud CRM/Mailing platform as a drop-in replacement/integration point for the current system.
Active Campaign (http://www.activecampaign.com/) is currently amazingly good as a CRM, sales funnel, and automation platform; all of which are mostly missing against Wodify list of items.
Being able to keep in sync data between Wodify and Active Campaign without manual data transference would make automations against memberships just work.
Here are two examples:
You make a sale either via self service or guided POS of protein powder for an athlete. Since it's 30 serves in a container, you can have the automation email your member (if they haven't already made a purchase to top up sooner) that they may want to consider a new container or try a different flavour. The athlete can interact with the email to generate an automation which could automatically bill them for a new container of protein or to have one put on hold for them when they are next in for cash sale, or to be removed from the promotion.
A new member is always the hardest to retain, with usual drop offs at ~3 months. Keeping the member fed with regular automated blog posts, youtube links, and more welcome-pack style information. Drip feeding of information over time is proven to be much more useful than handing over a 30 page welcome booklet which does not get read. Additionally would allow for automations and work to be done for special programs.
Without such integration, Active Campaign can email you of work to do in alternative systems, but anyone that has worked in enterprise will know that email is not a workflow tool.
We will definitely look to address the concept of differentiating between scaling options rather than just an overall ‘scaled’. Unfortunately for many workouts there are multiple variations for scaling each movement (ie instead of pullups they did ring rows, or used a green band, or a red band, etc)… or they did the pullups Rx and scaled the weight or movement.
Ultimately for many workouts it adds more complexity for the athletes. That being said, we are making changes to the performance tracking side in the near future and they may touch on this topic.
Hi Eric, for example this is how we are doing it....
However what this leads to is only one metcon scoring result, and then having to use the notes fields, and all Rx's being mixed up together.
Systematically, i'd like to see 'x' number of levels definable by an affiliate, and then the flexibility to give them name which suit your affiliate's culture.
Members would be subscribed to a Level, so when they do data entry, and hit the Rx button it may sort, or colour the Rx button to a level. Coachboard would then display ranking based on level (highest level Rx First to lowest level Rx; and then highest level scaled to lowest level scaled) with level number/name/scheme next to the score/time result.
Would be nicer to see other ways how people are doing the WOD display that actually works that doesn't flood the day's WOD with 5 alternatives or whatever, which then has 5 different scoring fields.
Again it would be awesome have to some kind of input in regards to how Wodify is looking at tracking and enabling this kind of functionality in Kiosk/Coachboard 2.0.
We will be updating our reservation feature. We are looking to have options for how you would like your reservations to work at your gym, including adding the first athlete on the waitlist to an open spot in class.
Additionally, promotion from waitlist to vacant spot should be possible through application alerts on the device we all carry in our pocket.
My current post from facebook -
With the current waitlist approach, it is possible and has happened with us, that someone not on waitlist tagged the free spot in the window it was open and a waitlisted member was unable to fill that spot.
Is it possible that the released position be held open for a period to allow the waitlisted members to react versus allowing someone to jump in? Eg even 15-30 minutes.
If the process is email then people will be expecting an email for a free spot. Not a bunch of friends releasing and trading spots in a booked out class.
Only if I've been good will I get it for Christmas?
Hi Sean, I thought I had already responded, but yes please.
Okay, I have to ask, how can we get a private preview or information on the redesign of coach board. We are going to start engaging with commercial/industrial interior designers to make a v2.0 of our box this year and knowing how things are going to work from an HCI point of view will influence floorplan layout/workflow.
If this isn't possible can we even get an estimate of 'when' this may be available to the Wodify users?
Or even the use of an HP Slate 21" is a turn-key ready to go 21" 1080P touch screen.
Should work on either ipad/android but also windows/linux systems where touch screen can be supported for mouse clicks. eg: work with any HTML5 compliant browser. Use of a chrome box and a 22" touch screen 1080P monitor could be created for AU$500 (similar price to a new iPad, but you get a 22" screen vs a 10").
Thank you all for the feedback regarding this suggestion. We’ll be looking to revise the billing aspects of Wodify in the up and coming year to include a running tab. Be sure to be on the lookout for up and coming updates.
2 months left in the year... is this happening soon?
ETA of 'when' in 2015 for this POS solution? We are holding back on out next revision of shop with self service functionality for this release. We don't want clients picking up a mobility ball and doing a transaction for a $5 object which will eat most if not all the profit margin in transaction fees.
It was confirmed as "YES - 2015" 4 months ago, we are now 1/3rd of a year through.
We hope to implement the ability to enter weightlifting sets by early 2018.
Use "Add Performance" to add the other sets. Or really the top set is the only one 'useful' to creating your 1RM estimated performance, and the top set of the same rep scheme is the only one worth tracking as a PR.
So you can either track them all with "Add Performance" for each weight, or track the top weight at the set/rep scheme and add the others into the notes for reference but not tracking.
Barcode or QR scanner using the camera of a tablet/phone/kiosk. Would be very handy esp for self managed POS checkouts. Avoid confusion in product selection between different protein powders, coloured/length of wrist wraps, etc.
The last we spoke with Ezidebit this type of hardware was in their 18 month roadmap. Since some time has passed we will be looking in 2017 to learn more about these different kind of payments in an effort to further integrate them with Wodify.
This is currently available in our Athlete App preview! Keep an eye out for additional updates to the preview app in the next couple of months!
thats available from the coachboard / calendar tabs from inside wodify....
We currently do have distinct access and permissions based on the role assigned to an athlete account. Whether or not someone is an Athlete, Admin, Coach, or Manager will determine what aspects of Wodify can be seen from within their account. You can read more about these individual permissions here: https://wodify.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/208738568
We will be revamping the Coachboard. It will include additional detail about athletes. This is certainly a request we can add to the list when we begin to spec the updated coachboard out.
I like this idea, but I prefer this for all athletes as those that do intro/fundamentals/onramp and sales could be different to on the floor coaches. I'd love to see a logo on the coachboard for all first time athletes. First time athletes at my gym - if a wodify profile has been copied from one gym to another, I want to see the same "first timer" logo.
